Athletes’ Rights and Responsibilities

Athletes’ Rights must be protected.

KADA's mission is to protect the health and safe of athletes by supporting clean and fair sport. For that mission, KADA develops and implement an effective and strategic Test distribution Plan based on the World Anti-Doping Code and the International Standard for Testing and Investigations. To conduct the effective Anti-Doping Activities, athletes are requested to comply with several duties and responsibilities for the testing, meanwhile, the athletes’ rights must be protected.
During the doping control process, athletes have certain rights and responsibilities.

Athletes have the following rights and responsibilities during the sample collection session.

The right to have an athlete representative
The right to accompany an interpreter
The right to ask for additional information about the sample collection process
The right to request for modification (athletes with impairments)
The rightto request for process adjustment (minor athletes)
The right to ask for permission to delay the test (if an athlete has reasonable circumstances )

Remain within a continuous observation of the Doping Control Officer(DCO) or the Chaperone until a athlete arrives at the Doping Control Office.
Provide the first sample after the notification as it should be witnessed by the doping control officers or chaperones. (with same gender as athlete)
Present your athlete’s ID to verify your identity

Comply with the requirements of Testing
Be on time at the Doping Control Station except for the case that athletes get permission from the DCO due to reasonable reasons.

Athletes with impairments have the right to request the modification to the sample collection process in accordance with the ISTI.

Modification to the sample collection process for athletes with visual impairment

Athletes are required to accompany an athlete’s representative when collecting samples and doing paperwork.
If an athlete requests, their representative is able to become the second witness to Testing.
An athlete representative is required to read loudly the Doping Control form to the athlete
A required document can be written by athletes’ representative if the athlete requests and they can sign it together.
Athletes may be assisted by a representative when dividing the sample if necessary and they can ask a DCO for assistance upon the athlete’s requests.
During the out-of-Competition, DCO shall not enter the personal property once they arrive if no one appeared to be there.

Modification to the sample collection process for Athletes with physical or sensorial impairment

Athletes may be assisted by a representative or Sample Collection Personnel during the sample collection session if the athlete or a DCO agrees.
Alternative Sample Collection Equipment will be used depending on the type of the impairment.
Athletes are allowed to use their own urine collection or drainage systems.
Athletes’ representative is able to do instead if an athlete is unable to sign.

Modification to the sample collection process for Athletes with intellectual impairment

Minor athletes have the right to request the modification to the sample collection process in accordance with the ISTI.

Minor athletes are required to be accompanied by an athlete’s representative at all times during the sample collection process including providing samples and completing documents.
Minor Athletes have a right to stay with the representative at the Doping Control Station.
A DCO or Chaperone is not allowed to stay with a athlete alone
An athlete representative will not witness the passing of the sample, but will oobserve the witnessing DCO or Chaperone.
For out-of-competition testing, a DCO is unable to enter the athlete's house where the minor stay alone.
